25th - 29th July 2022
10.00am - 3.00pm
We will be running a Junior Dance Week for students in Years 3 - 6. Our young dancers will have the opportunity to spend a week exploring different dance styles, working on choreography of their own and joining the older students for a stage production at the end of the week! We will also be running an optional choreography competition and the winner will be asked to perform their piece in the final production.
The course will be held at the SPD studio in Upper Rissington Monday to Thursday from 10am-3.00pm. On the Friday they will join the older students on the Cotswold School stage where they will rehearse their final production and perform to the parents at 4pm.
I am keen to offer more performance opportunities to the students and this is a great way for them to experience and enjoy the full process of a production.

SPD Studio - Upper Rissington
Designed for those who enjoy performing. We will be working on all three elements of musical theatre; singing, dancing and acting.
Everyone is able to develop at their own pace and there will be opportunities for you to explore performance techniques. Students will develop key skills in teamwork, communication and confidence whilst building friendships and having fun! We will conclude the 4 days with a production on the Friday at 3pm.
Due to the pace of the training throughout the workshop we are unable to accept any pupils who have not completed school year 4.

We are excited to be offering these Dance Days to our younger dancers again this year. They will follow a warm up to help them to prepare physically and mentally for the day ahead (this usually helps deal with any nerves too). They will then be separated into year groups where they will take part in a dance class aimed at their ability and age group.
Later in the day the students will study the plot and characters of a Musical or Ballet and then learn some choreography from that show giving them the opportunity to explore their own choreographic skills.
The day will be broken up with a short refreshment break in the morning and afternoon, a lunch break and some outdoor exercise.
Booking for this will be open soon. Students can book onto 1, 2 or 3 days for each week.
