Thank you for your interest in our Reception Ballet classes at Sheila Price Dance. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to the school.


We follow the RAD syllabus and all students take an assessment towards the end of each school year. The students prepare the work in class and are assessed by one of our teachers (but not their own teacher). On completion of this, the students receive a certificate and a medal. Further up the grades we give students the option to take the full RAD exam up to and including Grade 8. We feel it’s better to work towards in-house assessments for the first few years; whilst they follow the same format of an exam with an examiner in the studio etc, it is a more relaxed introduction for them to take an assessment at this stage.


From Year 1 or Year 2 (depending on interest) we introduce students to tap and modern classes and later on the option of modern exams for those who are keen.


In March each year we work towards a junior school show which is held at the Cidermill Theatre in Chipping Campden.
